The Danish silversmith Georg Jensen (1866-1935) first established a worldwide name as a designer of flatware, hollowware and jewels in the arts and crafts peculiar mode of expression of the early twentieth hundred, then went on to become a first international designer of well-made and refined of silver creations in the modernist mode of expression. In 1957, Arne Jacobson created a minimalist cutlery set which is uncombined in form and more contemporaneous looking than ever. Rhode was in all probability the most influential of all the designers who worked at Georg Jensen, and the Acorn original is the most popular of all of Jensen's flatware designs, still in fruit today. The set comprises of 12 teaspoons (middling size), 12 cakeforks and 12 butterknives, which are also eligible for pate. The butterknives all have silvery blades (these are sometimes produced with carbonized iron blades).
